A True Story

colorbar

One day a man called the shop to make an appointment for his dog to be groomed. I could tell he was an elderly man and very concerned about leaving his dog at a new shop. The next day he arrived with "Buddy" a black cocker mix, on time and still very concerned about leaving his best friend. He explained he had just lost his wife to cancer and didn't want anything to happen to "Buddy" because Buddy was all he had left. I talked to him about our services and the love that we showed for all the pets in our care and assured him that Buddy was in good hands. The tears in his eyes almost brought tears to my eyes then I showed him the gate that all the dogs went through to get back to the grooming area. I showed him the side where the dogs would enter that had thousands of scratches on it. Then I showed him the side of the gate where the dogs would exit to go home where there were just a few scratches. I told him as you can see they are trying to get in, not out. He left with a smile on his face and returned a few hours later to find Buddy groomed to his satisfaction with Buddy just a waggin his tail and prancing around with pride. Needless to say he brought Buddy in every month and Buddy was always happy to be there and made a few scratches of his own. I wish I had kept that gate. For every scratch was a signature by my "Best Friends."
